The International Canoe Federation (ICF) is establishing itself in China. It announces that it has inaugurated a new “satellite” office in the city of Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province. Intended to support the growth of paddle sports in Asia, this new office is part of the ICF's development strategy, summarized by the slogan "Fit for Future". Located in Hangzhou's business district, it will focus on sustainability and digital engagement, notably through ICF's partnership with Alibaba. Its opening follows the memorandum of understanding signed between the body and the Chinese city in October 2023. Hangzhou is due to host this year, from October 10 to 13, the first edition of the Super Cup for all disciplines, where will be gathered for the same competition sprint, slalom, polo and marathon.
