The International Boxing Federation (IBA) is strengthening its presence in China. It has announced that it has partnered with Kunlun Star to launch a professional league in China. It only concerns two weight categories, 63,5 kg and 71 kg, but will be richly endowed, with a jackpot of 2 million dollars to be distributed among the boxers. The first evening of the IBA Kunlun Fight is scheduled for November 16 at the National Indoor Stadium in Beijing. The international body has already composed the line up, with the confirmed presence in 63,5 kg of the French Sofiane Oumiha, triple world champion and double Olympic silver medalist, the Uzbek Ruslan Abdullaev, world champion, and the Russian Gabil Mamedov, European champion. In the top category, the evening of November 16 should bring together the Cuban Roniel Iglesias, double Olympic champion, the Russian Pavel Sosulin, IBA Pro European champion, and the Kazakh Ablaikhan Zhussupov, triple bronze medalist at the world championships. Two places will be reserved, in each category, for Chinese boxers.
