Last big oral for the French Alps and Salt Lake City

Winter games

The French Alps and the American city of Salt Lake City will take an additional step, this Tuesday, May 28, on the road to the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, respectively in 2030 and 2034. The two candidacies selected by the IOC for the phase of "privileged dialogue » must present their project, their venues plan and their vision to the international winter Olympic sports federations (WOF). Both presentations will take place virtually, but will not be open to the media. They should last approximately 25 minutes, and will be followed by a 35-minute question-and-answer session. At this stage of the process, this step appears to be a formality, the two files having already almost won the race. The rest will be played out in Lausanne, during the next meeting of the IOC Executive Board (June 12 to 14). Karl Stoss, chairman of the Future Host Commission, will present his final report. Unless there is a huge surprise, he will recommend submitting the French Alps 2030 and Salt Lake City 2034 to the IOC session at the end of July in Paris, for formal and definitive validation.
