After Los Angeles in 2028, Las Vegas in 2030? In the United States, a new Olympic candidacy is already in the pipeline. It concerns the Winter Games in 2030. And, surprise, emanates from one of the hottest cities in the country. Jon Killoran, the leader of the Reno Tahoe Winter Games Coalition (RTWGC), explained on NBCNews4 that Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe, Nevada, could apply to host the event. The ice events would take place in Las Vegas, where four venues already exist within a radius of less than 10 kilometers, which could easily be transformed into ice rinks for the duration of the Games: The Orleans, the new T-Mobile Arena (where the the Golden Knights NHL team), the MGM Grand Garden Arena, and finally the UNLV Thomas and Mack. The snow disciplines would be grouped together at Lake Tahoe, a winter sports resort located… 700 km from Las Vegas.
