John Coates was heard. Heard and followed. The Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) announces in a press release the joint decision taken by all members of its management to reduce their salaries by 20%, from May 1, 2020. This decision concerns eight of the employees of the national Olympic committee. Topping the list is general manager Matt Carroll. He should have received an annual salary of 506.675 Australian dollars (296.500 euros at current prices). He will now receive 439.117 dollars (257.000 euros). Clarification: Matt Carroll retained his exceptional bonus of $37.500, awarded by the AOC for the results obtained in 2019, but he will not receive any bonus for the year 2020. As a reminder, John Coates said earlier this month that he waived 20% of the amount of his consulting fees received every year in his capacity as president of the AOC. The management of the Australian Olympic Committee explains that it is making such a sacrifice to enable the AOC to achieve a balanced financial year at the end of 2020.
