It was time. Seven months after the Beijing 2022 Winter Games, the investigation into the alleged doping case of Russian skater Kamila Valieva has finally concluded. The press service of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) told the agency TASS. The hearings will be able to begin before the RUSADA disciplinary committee, but the date of the hearing has not yet been communicated. Last week, the Russian agency suggested that the investigation was close to its conclusion and would be completed quickly. Its director, Veronika Loignova, had justified the length of the procedure by the age of the young skater, less than 16 years old at the time of the Beijing Games, who benefited at the material time from the status of protected minor athlete. As a reminder, the medals from the team figure skating competition of the 2022 Winter Games, where Russia won, have still not been awarded by the IOC.
