Ingmar De Vos begins his mandate

A new chapter begins. The Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF) has a new president since January 1st in the person of Ingmar De Vos (photo above). Elected in April 2024, the Belgian has officially takenthe sequel to the Italian Francesco Ricci Bitti“I am deeply honored to serve in this capacity for the next four years, he said upon taking office. Our international federations are the foundation of the Olympic movement and the International Olympic Committee recognizes our essential role. Maintaining and strengthen dialogueThe open and constructive approach that has been cultivated in recent years will remain a key priority.”He also wanted to pay tribute to his predecessor: « During his twelve years as president, Francesco's wisdom and leadership have helped to achieve significant progress, particularly in governance. He has been instrumental in promoting collaboration and cohesion among our member federations, particularly through the creation and development of the ASOIF Advisory Groups.” President of the International Equestrian Federation(FEI) since 2014 and a member of the ASOIF Council since 2019, Ingmar De Vos wears many hats as he is also a member of the IOC, where he sits on the Coordination Commission for the Los Angeles 2028 Games, the Legal Affairs Commission and the Gender Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Commission. He will chair the ASOIF Council meeting on January 22.
