The International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) has in turn published the list of entrants for the Olympic events at the Paris 2024 Games, contested in Châteauroux. It has 340 athletes from 81 countries, plus two members of the IOC Refugee Olympic Team. China and India lead the nations with the most qualified shooters, with 21 athletes. France, the host country, lists 15. So far, nothing very unexpected. More notable, the presence on the entry list of the Georgian Nino Salukvadze (photo above), 55 years old, qualified in the 25m pistol. The oldest of the discipline will participate in Paris in her tenth Olympic Games. She will equal the record for participations in the Games, held by Canadian rider Ian Millar. At the Rio 2016 Games, Nino Salukvadze already made history by becoming the first mother to compete on the same team as her son.
