Argentinian athletes preparing for the Tokyo Games will be able to return to training very soon. They got the fire from national authorities. The Argentine government announced on Saturday June 5 its decision to authorize high-level athletes in Olympic disciplines to resume their preparation. They will still have to comply with strict daily health checks. This authorization is reserved only for athletes who have already qualified for the Tokyo Games or are in the process of doing so. It concerns 143 Argentine athletes. “ Olympic sport is very important for the country and we want athletes to train. This is why we defined the protocols with Matias (Lammens, Minister of Sports and Tourism) so that our representatives in Tokyo can prepare", explained Alberto Fernandez, the Argentine president, on the television channel TyC Sports. Argentina recorded last Saturday 20.020 cases of people positive for coronavirus for 648 deaths.
