Like the IAAF, the International Cycling Union wants to end its year with a Gala. The first of its kind is scheduled to take place on Sunday October 11 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The festivities will take place at the Arena concert hall in Marina Yas on the evening of the final day of the first Abu Dhabi Tour, a four-day stage race on the UCI Asia Tour calendar. During the evening, trophies will be presented to athletes who have distinguished themselves during the season, notably in the UCI World Tour, the UCI Women's Road World Cup, the three Grand Tours and the UCI Road World Championships.
