FIBA insists on electronic sports

Basketball

FIBA continues to make its mark in the increasingly crowded world of eSports. The world basketball body announces the launch next fall of the third edition of its official NBA 2K tournament. Played on the PlayStation 5, the eFIBA will bring together around sixty national teams, on five continents. At stake is a prize pool of $50.000. The competition will begin on October 1 with a series of regional pre-qualifications, until October 14. The next day, the qualifications and continental finals will begin, until November 7. Eight teams will qualify for the eFIBA World Finals. It will take place in December, in face-to-face mode.
