Farid Gayibov fills up with voices

A plebiscite for Farid Gayibov (photo above). The Azeri leader, Minister of Youth and Sports since last year and vice-president of the national Olympic committee, was re-elected for a new term as president of the European Gymnastics Union. Alone in the running, he obtained all of the 44 valid votes during the body's congress, organized over the last weekend in Albufeira, Portugal. Elected for the first time in 2017, to succeed Frenchman Georges Guelzec, Farid Gayibov was re-elected for a three-year term. He will be assisted by three vice-presidents, the French Michel Boutard, the Norwegian Tom Thingvold and the Slovenian Edvard Kolar.
