At least three cities have applied to host the European Indoor Athletics Championships in 2017: Belgrade in Serbia, Istanbul in Turkey and Torun in Poland. In Belgrade, a meeting between the leaders of the Serbian Athletics Federation and representatives of the city confirmed, at the start of the week, that the bid project would obtain unwavering support from the public authorities. The final decision is to be taken by the Council of the European Athletics Association (EAA) in May 2014.
