Eric Radford to the Athletes' Commission

Skating

The new Athletes' Commission of the International Skating Federation (ISU), initiated at the Dubrovnik Congress in 2016, is taking shape. Since this week, it has had a new member: the Canadian Eric Radford. He was elected by his peers on the sidelines of the World Figure Skating Championships, which are currently taking place in Saitama, Japan. Eric Radford obtained 27 votes, out of the 50 votes cast, against 23 for his rival, Uzbek Misha Ge. He will represent the disciplines of figure skating, excluding ice dancing, within the commission. The Canadian joins three other athletes, already elected to the commission during the 2019 World Championships: the Dutchman Douwe de Vries for speed skating, the Chinese Zhou Yang for short-track, and the Belarusian Yuri Hulitski for ice dancing.
