John Coates, president of the Australian Olympic Committee and vice-president of the IOC, is campaigning for respect for children's rights. He announced in Sydney his intention to campaign for the fight against abuse of minors to be included in the Olympic charter in the same way as the fight against doping. According to John Coates, an amendment to the IOC code of ethics, relating to child abuse, will be discussed at the next Rio Games.
