Canada, Thailand, France… ICF distributes its events

Meeting in Hangzhou (China) on March 4 and 5, the board of directors of the International Canoe Federation (ICF) awarded the organization of eight competitions. Two rounds of Canoe Ocean Racing World Cup are added to the calendar this year and will take place in La Vila Joiosa (Spain) and on the island of La Réunion (France). Devon (United Kingdom) will host a stage of the Stand Up Paddle World Cup in 2026, and La Plagne (France) a round of the Wildwater World Cup.The Sprint World Cup will stop in Canada next year. Junior and U23 Slalom World Championships will take place in Pattaya (Thailand) in 2027 and in Ivrea (Italy) in 2028. An important announcement for the development of the sport since Asia has never hosted this event. The 2029 edition will take place in Krakow (Poland). Finally, Balatonfured (Hungary) has obtained the organization of the Stand Up Paddle World Championships in 2028. The ICF has changed its competition allocation process: now, national federations can apply at any time for the listed events publicly by the FI. The ICF board then decides between the contenders.
