Calgary prepares bubble for the World Cup

Canada is not giving up. The health crisis has already deprived it of hosting several global events, including the World Championships of ice hockey, women's curling, luge and figure skating. But the city of Calgary, in Alberta, wants to propose to the International Ski Federation (FIS) to organize stages of the Moguls, Snowboarding and Freestyle Skiing World Cup in a health bubble. The Canadian Press reveals that the bubble in question would be installed at the WinSport Canada Olympic Park, located west of the city. A stage of the Moguls World Cup could take place there in January 2021, followed the following month by freestyle skiing and snowboarding events. The city of Calgary would provide the FIS with several hectares of land suitable for outdoor board sports. The teams would be housed in hotels located on the other side of the Trans-Canada Highway. It remains to obtain the green light from federal, provincial and municipal public health authorities, then convince the FIS. Currently, all people entering Canada must self-isolate for a period of 14 days.
