Very honorary end of the year for Bill Beaumont (photo above). The World Rugby president is in the King of England's New Year honors list. He was made a Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the British Empire for services to rugby. With this new distinction, the former international player climbs another notch on the honor roll of the English crown. Appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 1982, then Commander (CBE) in 2008, he was made a Knight in 2018, two years after assuming the presidency of World Rugby, where he succeeded to the Frenchman Bernard Lapasset. Bill Beaumont is also Lancashire Deputy Lieutenant.
