The list of candidates for elections of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) is known. The organization has confirmed that only one candidate is in the running to succeed President Olle Dahlin: Slovenian Tim Farcnik, currently a member of the executive board. There's no suspense either for the vice-president position, as the Swede Sofia Domeij will run unopposed. The same goes for the Austrian Christian Scherer, who is guaranteed to remain treasurer.
Eleven candidates are in the running for the six seats to be filled on the executive board Paulina Batovska-Fialkova (Slovakia), Tore Boygard (Norway), Atanas Ivanov Furnadshiev (Bulgaria), Tarmo Karsna (Estonia), Ivan Krulko (Ukraine), Fabien Saguez (France), Nathalie Santer (Italy), Stefan Schwarzbach (Germany), Michael Walker (Canada), Elizabeth Winfield (Great Britain), and Tamara Wolf (Switzerland). The elections will take place in Berchtesgaden, during the Congress, from September 17th to 20th.
