Logic. The world's leading table tennis power, China has just obtained at the end of an application process the ultimate tournament on the world circuit: a Grand Smash event, the highest level of the WTT competition pyramid ( World Table Tennis). It will take place every year between 2024 and 2028 in the capital, Beijing. The first edition of the China Smash is announced for the beginning of autumn (September 26 to October 6), two months after the Paris 2024 Games. The tournament will be played in an ice rink, transformed for the occasion into a table tennis hall, at Shougang Park in Shijingshan District. With this addition, the WTT calendar now includes three Grand Smash tournaments, in Singapore in March, in Saudi Arabia in May, and therefore in Beijing in September and October.
