Valentin Balakhnichev, the former president of the Russian Athletics Federation, former treasurer of the IAAF, does not intend to devote the rest of his days to cultivating his apple trees. He announced to the Russian media his intention to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to challenge his lifetime ban from all athletics-related activities. “A process that will not be easy for me, but I intend to use all legal means to prove my good faith,” he explained.
