Audiences climb on NBC

The Paris 2024 Games continue to make headlines in the United States. The group NBCUniversal, exclusive rights holder, saw its audience increase day after day during the first weekend, after an opening ceremony whose score had nevertheless exceeded expectations. For the day of Friday July 26, the group's cumulative audience, between broadcast on the channel, cable and streaming, reached 29,3 million people. The next day, it peaked at 32,4 million. On Sunday 28, the American audiovisual group recorded a cumulative audience of 41,5 million people. These results are much higher than those of the Tokyo 2020 Games, where the health crisis had a strong impact on the audience. They also exceed those of the Rio 2016 Games, although they were contested with a less unfavorable time difference. For the streaming service alone, NBCUniversal has already recorded better results than the Tokyo 2020 and Beijing 2022 Games combined.
