An extension of ten million for the ITA

Doping

Nice gesture from the IOC. The body announced that it had increased its participation in the budget of the International Control Agency (ITA). It will benefit from an extension of 10 million dollars for the next olympic cycle (2025-2028). In 2017, the IOC decided to establish a $30 million fund for the creation of the ITA. Obviously, the Olympic body now believes that its money was well spent. Furthermore, the IOC Executive Board was informed this week, during its meeting in Lausanne (June 12 to 14), of the testing program put in place by the ITA before the Paris 2024 Games. More than 31.000 athletes are currently in the running to compete in Paris. More than 60% of “high-risk athletes » have already been tested at least once since January 2024, 14% have been tested more than three times, and finally 10% have been tested three times.
