An expert for governance

Sailing

The International Sailing Federation (World Sailing) has never had to go through a governance crisis, but it intends to take the initiative to protect itself. The organization based in the south of England announces that it has recruited an expert, New Zealander Maria Clarke, to the position of independent chair of its governance commission. Known for having supported the IAAF in its reform process, this lawyer also collaborates with the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), as vice-president of its working group on governance issues. At World Sailing, Maria Clark will team up with Jan Dawson (New Zealand), Philip Baum (South Africa), Malav Shroff (India), Sarah Treseder (Great Britain), and Luis Velasco (Argentina), in a commission whose first meeting is scheduled for this month of May in London.
