An agreement on the World Tour

UCI

Relations are once again cordial between the UCI and the company A.S.O (Amaury Sport Organisation), the main player in professional cycling. In a press release published Thursday, June 23, the International Cycling Union announced that an agreement had been reached "between the stakeholders of men's professional road cycling on the next stages of the reform and on the 2017 UCI World Tour calendar." The agreement provides that the 2017 calendar will include all current UCI World Tour races, including those owned by ASO. The press release also specifies that World Tour teams will have a license for two years (2017 and 2018). Their number, set at 17 in 2017, could be reduced to 16 from 2018.
