Times are changing in American sports. For the first time in history, a cross-country ski athlete has been chosen to carry the United States flag at the closing ceremony of the PyeongChang Games. Jessie Diggins was nominated by her peers to march at the head of the procession on Sunday February 25. Earlier in the week, she won the first American gold medal in cross-country skiing history in the team sprint event. She was associated with Kikkan Randall, who was elected to the IOC Athletes' Commission.
