Nice move for the International Sports Press Association (AIPS). The professional organization, chaired by the Italian Gianni Merlo, has just signed a partnership agreement with Tencent, the Internet giant in China. An agreement that places the Asian company at the rank of “platinum partner” of the AIPS. According to an official press release, Tencent plans to bring together 92% of the audience for the Rio Games in China on its network (Internet, smartphones and tablets). The company will move a team of around a hundred people to Brazil and should occupy a 1000 m2 studio located less than 3 km from the main competition venues.
