The former captain of the XV of France, Abdelatif Benazzi (photo above), 56 years old, has announced his candidacy to Midi Olympique."We are coming to the end of Bill Beaumont's two terms , he explained to the specialist media. To succeed him, applications are open, and former Wallaby Brett Robinson has already put himself forward as a candidate, as have Italian Andrea Rinaldo and Scot John Jeffrey. If we want to have any power to influence the major decisions to come, we must therefore aspire to the position of chairman, for which I am now a candidate." The current president, Englishman Bill Beaumont, elected in 2016, will not be able to seek a new mandate after eight years at the head of the body. Elections are scheduled for November 2024.
