The artist Werner Bronkhorst took advantage of the World Swimming Championships in Singapore to create a work, entitled Fish in WaterThis painting is intended to be a tribute to eight athletes who left their mark on the competition, visible from above, each in their lane: Thomas Ceccon, Kyle Chalmers, Katie Ledecky, Léon Marchand, Summer McIntosh, Kaylee McKeown, Qin Haiyang and Gretchen Walsh. These eight swimmers, chosen after a social media consultation, also signed the back of the painting. Auctioned on August 3, the work was sold for 372.600 dollars, or approximately 318.000 euros. The profits will be donated to the World Aquatics Foundation.
