Esport

For the dates and program of the first edition, we will have to wait a little longer. But Thomas Bach explained on Thursday, December 5, at a press conference, at the end of the meeting in Lausanne of the executive board, the operation of the Olympic Games of eSports, planned for next year in Saudi Arabia. As announced when they were created, they will not follow the model of the Olympic Games, with an organizing committee in the host country and a coordination commission at the IOC. Instead, a committee will be formed jointly by the IOC and the Saudi National Olympic Committee. At its head, a two-headed presidency, with the Singaporean Ser Miang Ng for the IOC, and Prince Abdulaziz, president of the National Olympic Committee, for Saudi Arabia. This joint committee is composed of six members, three for each of the two parties. A first meeting was held last month. It notably defined the approach to be taken with regard to the players in eSports, including international federations and game publishers.
