A toolbox to feminize management

Rowing

The initiative does not lack practical sense. World Rowing took advantage of International Women’s Day, Tuesday March 8, to announce the launch of a “toolbox” dedicated to women’s training. Its ambition is to help national federations recruit, promote and support women’s rowing coaches. The body chaired by Frenchman Jean-Christophe Rolland established a strategy aimed at gender equality in 2014, but it still notes today a flagrant imbalance between men and women among management, especially at the highest level. World Rowing's new toolkit is meant to help countries and associations finally close the gap. In particular, it offers links to external resources, shares several case studies and highlights the most successful examples of feminization of rowing management. It was developed from several similar initiatives, notably in Great Britain and at World Rugby.
