Less than 80 days before the opening of the Tokyo Games (D – 74 this Monday, May 10), World Rowing has reached a new stage in its qualification process for the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games. The international rowing body has completed the qualifying event for Asia and Oceania. It took place in the Japanese capital, on the Games site, the Sea Forest Waterway. Strict Covid-19 prevention measures were imposed during the competition, played behind closed doors. Social distancing rules were observed from the first to the last day. A taste of the stay and competition conditions that await rowers in less than three months, according to World Rowing. There are still two qualifying events remaining before the Tokyo Games: the World Olympic Qualification Regatta in Lucerne, Switzerland, from May 15 to 17, then the World Paralympic Qualification Regatta in Gavirate, Italy, from June 3 to 5.
