The International World Games Association (IWGA) is also banking on streaming. It is launching its platform, The World Games Live, which will broadcast the Chengdu World Games live from August 7 to 17. All events, the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as the medal presentations, will be visible worldwide, either on the dedicated website, or by downloading the application.
After each event, all broadcast content will be available for replay. The platform will also offer highlights and a daily broadcast. “This platform represents a huge step forward for make the World Games more accessible than ever, says José Perurena, president of the IWGA. With The World Games Live, we're opening doors to untapped territories and giving fans around the world the opportunity to watch and cheer on their favorite athletes and sports, wherever they are. It's a celebration of international sport, and now, the whole world is invited. »
After these Games, The World Games Live will continue to exist as archive center with, in addition to Chengdu 2025 content, videos from the 2022 World Games and the World Games Series, as well as exclusive podcasts.
