The sporting Francophonie sees far. Even very far away. As proof, the resolution taken at the end of last week by the Conference of Ministers of Youth and Sports of the French-speaking world (CONFEJES). Gathered in Dakar on the occasion of its 50th anniversary, it announced that it was preparing a “ strategic vision » for the next fifty years. A 2019-2069 plan supposed to trace the “ major directions » of the next half century, according to its secretary general, Bouramah Ali Arouna. The leaders of the French-speaking organization are currently thinking about “ mobilization capacities » which should enable Africa to ensure “ massive and quality participation » during the next major international events, including the 2022 Youth Games in Dakar and then the Paris 2024 Games. The YOG planned for Senegal in 2022 are a challenge for Africa, all African countries must mobilize to make them the African Games. in terms of quality of organization and participation, suggests Bouramah Ali Arouna. Among the priority projects, the training of technical managers, referees and female officials, a sector where Africa lags far behind the rest of the world.
