SportAccord breaks its silence. The organization chaired by the Italian Ivo Ferriani, whose last editions of the annual convention were canceled due to the health crisis (Beijing 2020 and 2021) then the war in Ukraine (Ekaterinburg 2022), is increasing its announcements. After revealing the location and dates – Birmingham from April 7 to 11, 2024 – of its next convention, it confirms having recently become a signatory to the World Anti-Doping Code. “ We have a key role to play in promoting clean sport and principles of good governance, explains Ivo Ferriani, also president of the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF), and member of the IOC Executive Board. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with WADA, anti-doping organizations and other stakeholders to strengthen anti-doping practices globally. » As a reminder, SportAccord organizes, in addition to the annual convention and the Forum of International Federations in Lausanne, several multi-sport events, including the World Combat Sports Games and the Urban Sports Games.
