A rival for David Haggerty

Tennis

Battle in sight at the International Tennis Federation (ITF). The body announced that two men had submitted a candidacy for the presidency on time. The outgoing, the American David David Haggerty, will aim for a third consecutive term. But he will have to rule out a rival, the German Dietloff von Arnim (photo above). The election will take place at the next ITF General Assembly on September 24 in Cancun, Mexico. For his first re-election, in 2019, David Haggerty had already had to fight to beat three other candidates, the Indian Anil Khanna, the Irish Dave Miley and the Czech Ivo Kaderka. This time, he will only have one opponent, but he looks solid. President of the German Tennis Federation (DTB) for two years, Dietloff von Arnim has long been the director of the Tennis World Team Cup, a tournament played in his hometown of Düsseldorf.
