Decisive meeting and important decisions for the International Cycling Union. Its steering committee adopted, during its meeting on June 2 and 3 in Lausanne, a new reinforced Code of Ethics. The text provides in particular that a much larger number of individuals will be subject to it, including UCI employees, consultants and event organizers. The rules of conduct prescribed by this new Code cover essential issues such as integrity, neutrality, non-discrimination and conflicts of interest. The UCI management committee also approved the final version of its revised and modernized statutes, which will be presented to the Congress in October for approval. They include for the first time a limitation on the duration of the mandate of UCI president. Another decision: the establishment from 2016 of parity in the prize money awarded in the men's Elite and women's Elite categories during the UCI road world championships in the team time trial.
