There is no doubt about it: women's football is currently going through a period of euphoria. In the United States, in particular, its popularity has never been higher. According to a report by the Sports Business Journal, the professional women's league (NWSL) set a new attendance record in 2024, with an average of 11.250 spectators per match, up 6% compared to the previous year. For the first time in the history of the league, whose number of teams increased this year from 12 to 14, the season reached two million spectators. In total, 89 matches attracted at least 10.000 spectators, compared to 55 last year. Angel City FC leads the attendance, with an average of 19.313 people per match. Kansas City Current, for its part, played all its matches in front of full stands, in its 11.500-seat stadium. Finally, the Chicago Red Stars broke a record by attracting 35.038 people for their match against Bay FC. The same progression was seen in TV audiences, with more than 14 million viewers throughout the regular season.
