Great success for the disabled sports version of the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima. The event is not yet over (August 23 to September 1), but it has already broken an attendance record. Peruvian organizers announce in a press release that the 2019 Parapan American Games have exceeded the mark of 100.000 tickets sold. The opening ceremony alone attracted 30.000 spectators on August 23 at the National Stadium in Lima. The Parapan American Games bring together 1.890 athletes from 33 countries, competing in 17 sports and 18 disciplines. They offer quotas for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics in 14 sports.
