Francesco Ricci Bitti, its president, announced it even before the curtain came down: the SportAccord Convention, organized from April 2 to 7, 2017 in Aarhus, was a success. A success confirmed by the figures compiled by its organizers. The Danish city welcomed more than 1600 delegates, representing 71 nationalities, to the Scandinavian Congress Center. Among them, envoys from 100 international federations or affiliated associations. A total of 135 cities and regions were represented at the 2017 SportAccord Convention, including the two candidate cities for the 2024 Games, Los Angeles and Paris. Note the presence, very noted in Aarhus, of Prince Frederik of Denmark and the former Danish goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel.
