The road ahead promises to be long for electronic sports in their quest for Olympic recognition. According to a survey carried out by PwC, the international sports community is not in favor of seeing eSport one day enter the Games. The international auditing company surveyed more than 400 sports industry executives in 42 countries online. To the question “Is eSport an Olympic discipline? », 28% of respondents responded in the negative, explaining that electronic sports cannot claim the status of a sporting discipline. 29% suggest that eSports continue to develop outside the Olympic world. For 26,7% of those surveyed, electronic sports must first unite within the same international organization before ringing the doorbell for the Games. Finally, only 10,4% think that they should join the Olympic movement as quickly as possible.
