The UCI presented on Wednesday March 21 its action plan to fight against technological doping from the 2018 season. In addition to the magnetometric tablets and thermal cameras already used, the international organization has equipped itself with a mobile box to X-rays specially designed for the fight against technological fraud. According to a press release, this tool “totally secure for its operators and the public will be transported from race to race throughout the season. Capable of producing a complete x-ray of a bike in five minutes, this technology will be used to validate the performance of the best riders and dispel suspicion surrounding the results. » The process was developed with the assistance of VJ Technologies, a proven provider of solutions based on X-ray technology for the automotive, aerospace, energy, nuclear and weapons sectors. . As of this season, the UCI will have the most robust action plan ever put in place to counter technological fraud, with checks planned for 150 days and spread across all continents. All disciplines and age categories will be affected.
