Boxers could now begin a professional career and participate in the Olympic Games. AIBA has unveiled a new system which would allow athletes to have professional status without depriving them of the Olympics. Such a system would completely change the structures of world boxing, where athletes often preferred to opt for professional status, even if it meant giving up on the Olympic Games. Very early on, talented young boxers are spotted by promoters, directly influencing their careers.
