A new voice for athletes

UCI

The International Cycling Union (UCI) Athletes’ Commission has a new president. Dutch road racer Bobbie Traksel was elected as its head on Thursday, December 10 in Aigle, Switzerland, after a two-day meeting which brought together the 13 members of the new commission for the first time at the World Cycling Center. Bobbie Traksel was chosen by her peers with 7 votes to 6 for American paracyclist Greta Neimanas. This 34-year-old Dutchman won the Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne classic in 2010. As president of the Athletes' Commission, he will be co-opted into the UCI steering committee.
