The Spanish Olympic Committee and CEU San Pablo University, located in Madrid, have signed a collaboration agreement for the creation of an Olympic studies center within the academic institution. The objective is to " promote, stimulate and develop activities relating to research and the dissemination of Olympism, philosophical and humanist principles that shape the spirit of the Olympic Games, as well as their circumstances, their historical and sociological evolution " explains the COE.
The Spanish Olympic Committee will provide the university with a bibliographic collection including publications on Olympic topics. With the creation of this new center, Spain strengthens its position as country with the largest number of Olympic study and research centersFourteen are recognized by the International Olympic Committee and three others are in the process of being approved.
