A historic assembly

EOC

The general assembly of the Association of European Olympic Committees (EOC), which has just concluded in Prague, was “historic”. Nothing less. According to the official statement released by the EOC midway through the meeting, the event attracted 350 delegates. Among them, IOC President Thomas Bach and his ANOC counterpart Sheikh Ahmad al-Fahad al-Sabah. A record presence which is partly explained by the campaign for the organization of the Summer Olympic Games in 2024. The candidate cities had sent some of their directors to the Czech Republic, including the Los Angeles team, little concerned by a European meeting, but present in Prague with notably Casey Wasserman, the boss of LA2024, and Janet Evans, the vice-president. In 2016, the EOC General Assembly will take place in Minsk, Belarus.
