The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) is eyeing the United States. With less than four years to go until the Los Angeles 2028 Games, nothing could be more normal. Its commercial and events branch, World Table Tennis (WTT), has announced the launch next year of the first Grand Smash, the highest level of tournaments on the professional circuit, organized in the United States. Its name: US Smash. The competition will take place from July 3 to 13, 2025 in Las Vegas, in the Orleans Arena, a multi-sport venue with nearly 10.000 seats located next to a hotel-casino with a very French name, the Orleans. This first Grand Smash on American soil will last 11 days, during which the professional tournament will share the bill with a series of table tennis-themed events intended for fans and the general public.
