Nothing is ever very simple in Russia when it comes to football. A film project retracing the life and work of the legendary goalkeeper Lev Yashin, the only one in history to have won the Ballon d'Or, is at the origin of a controversy. The idea for this feature film came from Russian President Vladimir Putin at the end of April. Very quickly, a production company, Central Partnership, announced the project. A script has been written, casting has begun. A rush that did not please the player's widow and many sports personalities and family friends. Many already foresee a risk of historical errors, with none of the parties involved having been contacted to give their testimony.
