There were four on the starting line. There are only two of them left. The first round of the election for the presidency of the International Sailing Federation (World Sailing), the result of which was known on Monday October 19, eliminated two of the four applicants. The Spaniard Gerardo Seeliger and the Uruguayan Scott Perry leave the race. Victory will be played out between the Dane Kim Andersen (photo above), the outgoing president, and the Chinese Li Quanhai, current vice-president of the international body. The two men will battle it out in a second round which begins electronically this Tuesday, October 20. The results will be known on November 1. The election also concerns World Sailing's seven vice-presidential seats, for which fifteen candidates are competing. This last vote will be decided in a single round. Its results will also be announced on November 1, along with the name of the president of World Sailing for the next four years.
