Lamine Diack can prepare. French justice has revealed the date of the trial of the former president of the IAAF and his son, Papa Massata Diack, before the Paris Criminal Court. The two Senegalese will be tried from January 13 to 23, 2020. They are suspected of being at the heart of a corruption system aimed at covering up cases of doping by Russian athletes. Lamine Diack will have to answer to charges of “active and passive corruption”, “breach of trust” and “organized gang money laundering”. Five other protagonists will take their place on the dock, including Papa Massata Diack, prosecuted for “organized money laundering”, “active corruption” and “complicity in passive corruption. » But the former advisor to the IAAF, when his father was president, will certainly not go to trial. A refugee in Dakar, he was never questioned by French justice, despite an arrest warrant issued for his person.
